Remington R8150 Dual Track Rotary Shaver Review
Review by Pete Morris
There aren’t that many Remington shavers out in the UK, however there are a couple that sell very well and have an excellent reputation; the Remington R8150 Dual Track Rotary Shaver is one of them. The R1850 has been out for over a year now, and as a result is currently available for a bargain price (which is probably one of the reasons that it’s been selling so well).
The Remington R8150 boasts 3 shaver heads, each with dual-track titanium coated blades. As Titanium are 300% stronger than standard steel blades, this means that they will stay sharp and have a much longer life.
The shaver heads are mounted using Remington’s “Flex and Pivot” technology. This means that the heads flex and adjusts to contours of your skin, whilst the head pivots and follows the shape of your face, neck and chin. The idea is to reduce friction and maintain skin contact with the shaver heads, and therefore reduce the irritating effects of shaving on the skin.
The Remington R8150 has an efficient battery, which will last for up to 60 minutes on a single charge. It’s also a lithium battery which means that the motor of the shaver will work at the same power no matter if the battery is fully charged, or about to run out. It won’t get slower and slower as you shave and begin tugging at the hairs. The battery is indicated via an LCD display, which indicates exactly how many minutes shaving time is left until it will require a recharge.
The battery also has a 5 minute quick charge feature. This means a 5 minute charge will give you enough juice for one shave, which is handy if you forget to give the shaver a charge and end up with a dead battery.
The shaver also comes with a charger stand, travel pouch and 2 year warranty. It’s not a fancy package by any means; Remington don’t tend to make gimmicky shavers. The R8150 is simple and should be easy enough for anyone to use.
We found that most electric shavers were cheapest at Amazon.co.uk, including the Remington R8150 which is currently available for a massive 67% off.

Remington R8150 Customer Reviews and Feedback
With around 85% of customers giving the Remington R8150 a 3 star review or above, this shaver is well liked by the people who use it.
Almost all of the positive customer reviews stated that the Remington R8150 shaved them very well, and the majority of men didn’t seem to experience any irritation (although it’s worth baring in mind that your skin may take some time to adjust if you aren’t using to using an electric shaver).
Another point that customers mentioned quite often is the impressive battery life. Most found that 60 minutes meant that the shaver lasted well over a week, and liked the fact that the power of the motor didn’t fade as the battery power went down. The quick 5 minute charge function was found to be a useful addition too.
People found it easy to wash too; simply flip open the shaver head and run under a luke-warm tap.
There weren’t a huge amount of negative comments. Around 10-15% of customers did give the R8150 a negative review, and the general point made was the for those customers it didn’t give a good shave. It’s unclear whether this was down to technique, or the thickness of their stubble so it’s a bit difficult to draw any conclusion from that. As the huge majority of men found that the shaver shaved very well, we don’t think it’s anything to worry about too much.
All in all, the Remington R8150 looks like a reliable and useable shaver. It’s not fancy or full of gimmicks, but if you want a simple and dependable shaver you should definitely take a look. It’s available at a more than reasonable price, at 71% off, so it won’t break the bank either. 3 stars for this one; a good, simple shaver, but a lack of some more advanced features means that we do favour newer electric shavers.
